DR. IVOR EMANUEL

Dr. Ivor Emanuel is Board Certified and brings over 30 years of experience to San Francisco ENT & Allergy.
Dr. Emanuel’s expertise in the state of the art Management of nasal and sinus disease, allergy, and asthma, enables him to provide the latest innovations in the management of these conditions to his patients.
Dr. Emanuel is a Fellow and Past President of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Dr. Emanuel has been a Clinical Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Francisco, and also a member of the clinical faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California.
Dr. Emanuel received his medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He completed his otolaryngology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and a head and neck surgical fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Throughout his career, Dr. Emanuel has edited and written numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and other professional publications. He has lectured extensively both in the United States and internationally, especially on the subject of allergy diagnosis, acute and chronic sinus disease, the allergic relationship to chronic sinusitis and asthma, and sublingual allergy immunotherapy (SLIT).
He is considered a national expert in the field of sublingual immunotherapy and allergy blood testing, having used these methodologies for over 25 years. He was a consultant for Phadia diagnostics, the developer of the allergy blood test, ImmunoCap, from 1986 – 1994. He has been a medical consultant for Blue Shield of Northern California and has sat on the Otolaryngology and Allergy Advisory Boards for numerous organizations.
